It all started…

in the summer of 2008, when local Flathead Valley resident David Feffer traveled to New Milford, Connecticut to further his classical guitar studies at the National Guitar Workshop with teachers Andrew Leonard and Ben Verderey.

The following summer, over a bottle of bourbon, an ambitious workshop concept was hatched by Leonard, Feffer, his son William and his brother-in-law Mark Noonan.

Their number one goal was a commitment to promote the artistry of the guitar across all genres in a non-competitive community environment.

Second was providing a place for guitarists to draw creative inspiration from the spectacular natural beauty of Northwestern Montana.

Our goal from day one was to establish the Flathead Valley as an internationally regarded center for the guitar.
